Product Information on the Automated External Defibrillator

Philips HeartStart AED

Philips Medical Systems offers several models of AEDs:

The Philips HeartStart AED FR2+ features a long-life 4-year consumer battery (the same kind used in digital cameras) for easy replacement. In addition the HeartStart FR2+ AED features an optional data card that records patient heart rhythm, defibrillator use and voice recording of the event. This removable data card lets one generate a variety of reports via Coderunner software without taking the AED unit out of service.

The Philips HeartStart OnSite AED reminds one to call emergency medical services (EMS). In addition, a record of last events can be retrieved from internal memory in order to provide EMS personnel "summary of care" data.

The Philips HeartStart XLT AED is a dual-use AED for both EMTs and paramedics and can switch from automatic to manual operation quickly. ECG cardiac monitoring is provided and noninvasive pacing and SpO2 monitoring is optional. Continuous ECG monitoring and other events are stored on a data card. When downloaded, CodeRunner software can be used to edit, store and print reports for data management and reporting.
